S'Agapo - Naples Big Fat Greek Restaurant Truly has a Big Greek Wedding!!

SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM. S'AGAPO HAS CLOSED.

Newlyweds Luz Dary and Wilson Alexander wanted to have a Big Fat Greek Wedding reception banquet, with the best Greek food and music in Naples Florida. Everyone said "S'Agapo, Big Fat Greek Restaurant is THE place for Greek food and fun." And it is just that.

Rexhina Elezi and and Leonardo Mecollari's Greek Restaurant is a popular, yet hidden gem. It's recommended by many at St Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church as the most authentic Greek restaurant. The prices are very good. It is homey, with warm autumn colors and colorful paintings of Greek scenes. It's best to park in the large lot behind the restaurant. The newlyweds and their party arrived after church,

Rexhina
ready for a tasty feast!

The fresh flavors leap out, starting with the Tzatziki (below) appetizer, a mix of yoghurt with pureed cucumber, garlic salt, dill, fresh squeezed lemon juice and parsley. This appetizer, or meze, is served with pita bread.
A Greek salad has fresh greens, sun ripened tomatoes, green peppers, parsley, and Feta cheese-bursting with flavor.
The hummus is an addictive blending of cooked chickpeas, tahini, or ground roasted sesame seeds, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper, with a paprika and parsley flake dusting.
Luz and Wilson Toast their Guests
Savor the robust flavors of roasted pork shish-kebobs, with
crunchy red onions, and vine ripened tomatoes.
Crisp fried thick fries, with a special topping!
Chicken shish-kebob, mixed with green peppers, red onions and squirts of lemon.
Tiropita is a triangular cheese pie, with feta cheese and egg, wrapped in layers of buttered phyllo dough, and baked till crisp.
Try a plate full of goodness... And another! Happy campers

Galactoboureko-a custard and phyllo dessert, honey drizzled
Baklava-phyllo wrapped chopped nuts with honey
Wedding Cake, too.
A toast to a good 2009!
I've enjoyed dining for lunch and supper, Monday -Saturdays. Try the Big Fat Favorites Combo for two people ($17 each), with Mousaka, pastichio, dolmathes (stuffed grape leaves), lamb, chicken & Souvlaki shish-kebab!
.
NOTE: S'AGAPO HAS CLOSED IN JANUARY, 2009, SHORTLY AFTER THIS WRITE UP.
PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS HAVE GONE UNANSWERED FOR WEEKS. THE RESTAURANT HAS BEEN GUTTED. THIS WAS A GREAT PLACE FOR OVER 3 YEARS, AND IT IS SAD TO SEE IT GONE.

I live in Atlanta, GA. I've been in a couple of Greek restaurants here, but when I went to S'Agapo, it was great! The food is so rich in flavor, excellent service and great atmosphere. I would recommend this place to anyone...
