Sculpting an Elegant Evening

It was a night of Latin American elegance and warm flowing conversation, as internationally renowned sculptor Lucy Correa-Ryback and Dr. Ralph Ryback hosted an intimate dinner party on the shores of Naples, Florida's Lake Lucy.

We learned of Lucy's larger commissioned sculptures in and around Medellín, Colombia, and were fortunate to see some of her smaller bronze sculptures and newest oil paintings, that were not yet dispersed to waiting worldwide museum collections. Lucy's passion for people is reflected in her dedication to the Foundation for Art in Action, which enhances the lives of those living and working in an impoverished environment on the outskirts of Medellín. This is done through education and erecting buildings for such community education.

The dinner started with a rich Andalusian Gazpacho, a creamier version than many, garnished with fresh ground black pepper, diced cucumber, bell peppers and croutons, just before serving.

This was followed by broiled Florida Grouper, with orange slices and capers, accompanied by baked mushrooms, carrots and potatoes.
Dessert, not pictured, was a frozen coconut surprise, served in hollowed pineapple halves, and added to beautiful serving glasses, accented with triple sec and fresh fruit juices. WOW!
